I have been busy over at <a href="http://theweirdscissors.blogspot.fr/" target="_blank">The Weird Scissors</a> recently and taking a little break, but here is a wee project which I started as a swap ages ago, and wanted to get something out there even though it's not finished yet!<br />
<br />
I can't find the link but it was on Craftster - little inchie houses. I thought they were adorable. So far, from left - right, I have received from Chris, Lou, Mags, me and Frances. I'm hoping these will provide some inspiration the remaining houses yet to be done. Plus, I discovered a stash or reasonably good quality envelopes that I will never use for cards, so I decided to make some mail art envelope houses to pack them in :)<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Just a quick one. I have been doing a stay at home kind of swap, so I get to keep the results, which is a bit of an odd one for me. It's a polystyrene head, cheap as chips from ebay, which I decorated in a day of the dead style. I used the glass leaves, paper spiral flowers, bling, heart and ribbons using bits that the lovely Netty sent to me for the swap. I'll probably add some more to it, although I quite like it as it is.</div>

A bit of a departure for me, but then that's part of what I love about swaps. I joined a she art style canvas swap, run by the lovely Sian, Not my usual style, but I thought it would be fun to have a go. My swap partner, Sarah, wanted pale/neutral colours and liked willow tree figures. I had never heard of them but after a bit of googling I decided that they would work really well. Because this is outside my normal comfort zone I made three, and sent all of them to Sarah so that she could use them as a triptych is she wanted or just change them around. The odd lines on the dresses are because I stuck an old sewing pattern onto them. Sarah seems to like them, which is fab, a she is also my team leader on UKS and is superb, so I really wanted to make something she would appreciate.<div>

I did some more, this time with comic books. Some I really like, some are a little too busy for it to work, but overall I think most of them worked out okay. Sorry about the poor quality - technology hates me!<br />

These really are the last of my adventures with postage stamp heads. For one thing, I'm mostly just down to standard queeny head stamps now. I thought I would try something other than magazine images with them. Mixed results methinks. The first lot are a mixture of a vintage style couple stamps that I forgot I had (not sure whether I prefer them landscape or portrait) and some body stencils. The second lot are with my Stampotiques, as they are the only other body stamps I have. The most detailed ones don't work so well for me as they fade into the background, so I have just chosen the remaining ones. I have done more, but they are much of a muchness so these are just examples.</div>

More stamp head people ATCs. I do love making these but I think I'm a bit of a one trick pony when it comes to them. You know, take a magazine image, stick a stamp on, a bit of pen, a bit of washi tape, and bob's your aunty's brother. I don't have many people stamps though and my drawing skills aren't up to bodies. Just had a thought though - the standard queen's head type stamps may work with my Stampotiques as they are not too big. Off for a play - hopefully I can get some more done in a different style.</div>

No postage stamps this time, just cut up magazine images. I went through my embarrassingly large stack of fashion mags and cut out bodies, legs and heads and then mixed and matched them. Stuck them on to inky painty tags and roughly (it is supposed to be rough - honest) outlined them. I'm quite pleased with how most of them came out, although some are not freaky enough for my liking! They have names because they are being sent with the junk journal swap I am running over on UKScrappers.<br />

Oh well, so they're a little bigger, but that actually works better for some of the images I think. I have some old stamps kicking around and I thought it would be fun to do something with them. I took my stamps with heads on and placed them on images cut from fashion mags. I tried to match them as much as possible for size, colour, position etc. You'll see what I mean. I poscaed (is that a verb? it is now!) over the bits of the images that didn't fit in and voila! Stamp head people.<br />

I have also done two domino pendants but the photo is rubbish and they have been sent now. Not that this photo is much better, but hey ho.<br />
<br />
My theme for this on was steampunk and I was making for Frances who made <a href="http://www.snoophere.blogspot.fr/2014/03/this-is-my-version-of-witch-doctor-made.html" target="_blank">this amazing witch doctor</a> altered brush for Lou. So, no pressure then! Mine is not as wow, but I think it does look better than in the photo. The face is made from liquid fimo from a mould I made, then painted to (hopefully) look like an old bronze so beloved of the Victorian era. The handle was covered with a door fitting and then the whole lot was smothered in watch parts. Reminds me of this <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TFCuE5rHbPA" target="_blank">fab song!</a><br />
<br />
I hope she likes it.<br />

Another quick update. I have finished a few bits all at the same time. This one is a junk key round robin where we all take a key and start adding charms and other bits to it according to our theme. Mine is Day of the Dead so I have taken an old house key and added some appropriate charms and a bit of ribbon from the lovely Sian.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaLfBszXAEybNcMRrIx0QmVC2erLe_SJALvpd7NfmwdY3N5ZC2baVfrqH4HfpGmL7jwGx-dqFIXcpBCcyxDJH7-Bjv8XvQfbmkpQeMUjuRCLzJAjDND_GVFUBsSRr2SmUtyVgbl5nvBxXo/s1600/DSCN0391.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjaLfBszXAEybNcMRrIx0QmVC2erLe_SJALvpd7NfmwdY3N5ZC2baVfrqH4HfpGmL7jwGx-dqFIXcpBCcyxDJH7-Bjv8XvQfbmkpQeMUjuRCLzJAjDND_GVFUBsSRr2SmUtyVgbl5nvBxXo/s1600/DSCN0391.JPG" height="320" width="233" /></a></div>
<br />
I also received a key from Frances who had a fairy tale theme. She had already added the teeniest genie in the bottle. I added a miniature book that I made myself from a Walter Crane illustrated Cinderella book. You can't see it in the photos but it is a proper opening book with pages. I also added a wish charm and a fairy godmother cardstock tag.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The other ones in my group will be steampunk, gothic/Edgar Allen Poe and Alice in Wonderland. I can't wait to see them.</div>

<br />
One of the ones I have joined recently was a spoon angel swap run by the lovely Chrissie. Inspired by an article in Craft Stamper, the deal was to make an angel out of a teaspoon and stick it on a canvas. Hmmmm. I am no good at painting faces on anything that is not totally flat and I didn't get the swap partner who didn't want a face, so I had to think. A rummage through my pile of crafty stuff and my daughter's toy box led to a combi of silligum and an old doll. I made a mould, filled it with liquid fimo (love that stuff) and shaped it to fit the spoon. My swap partner wanted teal/purple/black as her colour choice, and that was it. However, I happen to know my swap partner a little and she is, like me, a bit of a sci-fi geek and likes Dr Who. So, going with her colourway, here is my angel, loosely based on the weeping angels and set in a spooky graveyard, with "don't blink" written underneath. I really hope she likes it.<br />

Well, I took part in a swap (quelle surprise!) for the arty 12 days of Christmas and got lots of lovely bits from Ally, my swap partner, so I made a junk journal with some of the stuff, and here are the pages.</div>

Every one of these pages includes at least one bit from the swap (although the last page may be cheating as it is some of the tissue paper that some stuff was wrapped in`). I must say I loved using something I didn't already have as it really sparked my creativity. Thank you Ally.<br />
<br />
All the bits were in a container, and mine was a Quality Street chocolate thing. One of the challenges of the swap was to alter the container, so here is my day of the dead quality street jar. I covered it with dictionary pages, then drew and painted with posca pens.<br />

<br />
I am playing catch up for a couple of people who made but have not received, one of whom is Karen (again). This swap was to make something, anything, to celebrate one or more of someone's secret little vices. It was inspired by a swap on craftster, although I can't find the link now.<br />
<br />
Anyway, here is my take on Karen's - spending her time watching Tour de France and hot men in cycling shorts, rather than being a domestic goddess. So I made her a recipe book...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpLgJTI6dx6BvWLMbafE8mHREmM_qljvTa27A38u-gQs4xlScwSFmm3EX1WX1NS1vHthKoXriVxCMvBAIKvoZGfYe4kgrtPa9AYyDPerF75qhqyqZcIav4wPeRhIgjGWKC36l2E6b6Y6Y8/s1600/DSCN0338.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjpLgJTI6dx6BvWLMbafE8mHREmM_qljvTa27A38u-gQs4xlScwSFmm3EX1WX1NS1vHthKoXriVxCMvBAIKvoZGfYe4kgrtPa9AYyDPerF75qhqyqZcIav4wPeRhIgjGWKC36l2E6b6Y6Y8/s1600/DSCN0338.JPG" height="320" width="304" /></a></div>
<br />
... with a twist!<br />
<br />
Some of the pages have pockets with a recipe card on one side and a pic of her favourite cyclist on the other. So now, she can drool over hot men in lycra shorts whilst pretending to be a domestic goddess! The recipes are all taken from a vintage cookbook I ripped up, and I have never tried any of them so who knows what they are like. Some of the recipes in the book are for things like brains on toast so I am unsure about it to say the least. I have played it safe (ish) though, and just included cake and biccies in Karen's book.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigW-NvsywqK_1WtmfElAoBl6vBQldWfQ1b1pP83xUAbkr-CVvODftFraoiyZXMWDtl_rAqlS6o7_1bT3VlGwmWuIG53Io8cTfDyfC6YMtRNl3A7El1U0FY5d2HdajwClejg4RxBHtx87MW/s1600/DSCN0339.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEigW-NvsywqK_1WtmfElAoBl6vBQldWfQ1b1pP83xUAbkr-CVvODftFraoiyZXMWDtl_rAqlS6o7_1bT3VlGwmWuIG53Io8cTfDyfC6YMtRNl3A7El1U0FY5d2HdajwClejg4RxBHtx87MW/s1600/DSCN0339.JPG" height="232" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
But I wasn't done yet. I know that Karen likes old anatomy books, so I found a cheap book box (no before photos but trust me, it was not pretty) and altered it to try and make it look like an old, gnarly anatomy type book. Lots of scrunched up tissue paper, gel medium, distress inks and heat embossed grungepaper bits, along with a metal word pin and a vintage illustration.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtHDSNWaw6w9WY9IeiSQpsOi-jGNL6Xxdq3gRUeWcfpo0lXzn9QxNwgpT1jYEeCKG1JNJ85OAKbn9xJnq5qz-R3wKWzJfIZHdzYWCEOsk7A7r83IDwAlZpCOPSgCXDoIvJpWE_zbwnseTb/s1600/DSCN0333.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtHDSNWaw6w9WY9IeiSQpsOi-jGNL6Xxdq3gRUeWcfpo0lXzn9QxNwgpT1jYEeCKG1JNJ85OAKbn9xJnq5qz-R3wKWzJfIZHdzYWCEOsk7A7r83IDwAlZpCOPSgCXDoIvJpWE_zbwnseTb/s1600/DSCN0333.JPG" height="320" width="296" /></a></div>
<br />
I'm quite pleased with how the spine worked out, with a plastic flat backed skeleton glued onto the original box before it was covered, so that the shape of it stands out. Nicely tactile.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEJH1UunkOnHOQ7BHSYmZ11dAe_5cbZk92AbTXQ5Iyo3yxkXnlo1-jExs_FISrGrKJI2YJEo87ACFGJ8UVEdtUg4U_QiJQzqZLIHIHXvcMXvCfb2LoApj2yfF5NBnAjaOLsHYLjqhfmH3Q/s1600/DSCN0330.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjEJH1UunkOnHOQ7BHSYmZ11dAe_5cbZk92AbTXQ5Iyo3yxkXnlo1-jExs_FISrGrKJI2YJEo87ACFGJ8UVEdtUg4U_QiJQzqZLIHIHXvcMXvCfb2LoApj2yfF5NBnAjaOLsHYLjqhfmH3Q/s1600/DSCN0330.JPG" height="106" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I also made a false bottom to the box, so she can hide more secret stuff in there if she wants. The recipe book fits in the box, all nice and kentucky.<br />
<br />
Hope you like it Karen.BEXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08419309705127739597noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1541299617598837486.post-59171343534042567772014-01-30T09:19:00.001+01:002014-01-30T09:20:00.506+01:00Horror themed triptych for KarenMajor catch up of stuff at the moment. I have been a bad blogger!<br />
<br />
Another swap, this one is for Karen who wanted skulls or classic black and white horror (not the gory stuff). I went for classic horror but added a few skulls in for good measure.<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9X1dn9DFbZAVjd0VT7WQimVfPNTFAKJxQ390ClHp6feTr5YlJf4ceS77QKGno2BTJDj2MmxlujW6KDxG_b7DD1DYs-8I1Kc-IjdTvWZXYsNj2PnIlln8lqBT82pHu1lJkWNs85XlNGykV/s1600/DSCN0316.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9X1dn9DFbZAVjd0VT7WQimVfPNTFAKJxQ390ClHp6feTr5YlJf4ceS77QKGno2BTJDj2MmxlujW6KDxG_b7DD1DYs-8I1Kc-IjdTvWZXYsNj2PnIlln8lqBT82pHu1lJkWNs85XlNGykV/s1600/DSCN0316.JPG" height="640" width="180" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I found a couple of photos of two of my fave horror actors (Vincent Price and Christopher Lee) on tinterweb which I altered, along with a classic shot from Nosferatu. Printed onto old dictionary paper (cue much cursing and removing mangled bits of said paper from my printer) and mounted onto chunky mini canvases which were then mounted onto larger flat canvases painted black. Joined with some film ribbon (love that stuff) with added skulls.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Karen also sent me some kilt pins a while ago. so I made a horror themed kilt pin which is attached to the back with just a bit of washi tape, so it can be removed if she wants to take it off and wear it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<br />
I hope she likes it. This was attempt number two after I got the mistaken idea that she wanted a Stampotique themed triptych. Reading instructions was never really my thing! I did send her the Stampotique one as well but I'm not sure I like it now (and it didn't photograph well) so it's not here.<br />
<br />
I have a few more catch up bits so hopefully I will be back soon :)BEXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08419309705127739597noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1541299617598837486.post-31472415792596978392013-11-26T09:34:00.002+01:002013-11-26T09:34:56.603+01:00Elf doorAs a follow on to the Halloween witchy door I have made a Christmas version. Except it's not a door - ooops. Well, if the big guy can make it down the chimney then I'm sure his litle elf helpers can do the same, so here is my Christmas fireplace.<br />
<br />
This is the front, with a little fire, handmade little snowmen in what is supposed to be snow but actually looks more like raging fog.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh204tWgg0gWZIYBk6ZwAnVtX7QrcG5MfVgfzLxq4fRdy4aENIWmgkJ4MN0tkBMr4gHlgOSmXlDc6GPMJhCyYCcNcEE_V5CgVb2jOO-dCRhyiRgYUFjj4yqb8_C4oJjTUlX42gmBlxz7Reu/s1600/DSCN0300.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="236" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh204tWgg0gWZIYBk6ZwAnVtX7QrcG5MfVgfzLxq4fRdy4aENIWmgkJ4MN0tkBMr4gHlgOSmXlDc6GPMJhCyYCcNcEE_V5CgVb2jOO-dCRhyiRgYUFjj4yqb8_C4oJjTUlX42gmBlxz7Reu/s320/DSCN0300.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
And the back. The fireplace is made from 12 little matchboxes and each one has a little present inside for my swap partner. The out of place black thing hanging in the middle is the control for the lights around the mantlepiece.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicx42-CvdelRK5rwOeUW33wByz0mblsI3nChqN1JCZqJ4T9uAmUzS36mBHju6z8teiRlh8u7PASR8coN1RYVMfbwAQUlzTyNa2fLyDB_nZeFNWEfoG1wEHTIz7sUiylxroOsYaf0wRaAWO/s1600/DSCN0297.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="231" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEicx42-CvdelRK5rwOeUW33wByz0mblsI3nChqN1JCZqJ4T9uAmUzS36mBHju6z8teiRlh8u7PASR8coN1RYVMfbwAQUlzTyNa2fLyDB_nZeFNWEfoG1wEHTIz7sUiylxroOsYaf0wRaAWO/s320/DSCN0297.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Please excuse the crappy photo but I forgot to adjust my camera and it did not like the flashing lights, but as you can see it does light up. The fire is also a little light (switch under the bottom).<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I have added in a few extra bits (stockings, candy cane, etc.) that my partner can use to decorate it further if she so desires, and I hope she likes it.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Cheers. Bex</div>

A super quick spooky post, seeing as it's Friday 13th today. Here is a witchy door that I made for a spooky door swap hosted by the lovely Jas. I don't want to say who it's for as it has only been posted today (it seemed the perfect day to do it!). Hope my swap partner likes it though :)<div>

They are fun to make but pants to cut! Twinchie themes were - free for all, Oz, Alice, anything goes and yellow. Inchies were anything goes, Alice, blue, yellow. Red Queen and indigo. Phew!<br />

The idea was to send a load of little goodies to your swap partner based on their favourite band/solo artist. Sort of like the fan club welcome packs that I so looked forward to as a teen, but the contents this time could be whatever you felt like.<br />
<br />
This is the one I made for the lovely Jas based on Dave Grohl.<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Firstly, there is a little box of notecards.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyC4I2gTdFqIGXXovhYR86BaIQoQj8t-0YPB_Bx-op-Z7DsyXQRpLr7ct6bZJRqekMQBbifJXvdX97Gfh2eVSPEwUJ4Rj-vSzAUV576DG5IZKjCqQ__iPBTknQe6uqK3HxjQ3_qzUIXPJ9/s1600/IMG-20130520-00296.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="145" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyC4I2gTdFqIGXXovhYR86BaIQoQj8t-0YPB_Bx-op-Z7DsyXQRpLr7ct6bZJRqekMQBbifJXvdX97Gfh2eVSPEwUJ4Rj-vSzAUV576DG5IZKjCqQ__iPBTknQe6uqK3HxjQ3_qzUIXPJ9/s320/IMG-20130520-00296.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
Inside the box is a pic with an appropriate quote.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3xygasJgc-i-obo1NtpimMoPvLAGs59IAx3jqkC4NEtGDaBjBP8-Tf2qG-LU4o1nQ31x_fPDU7ByDKLdpdJDUcadJBbArWAbJiSMhUejl6CEsxKsVn8sxdA5Cp8bG_OTxD62Y_o_P_ITO/s1600/IMG-20130520-00301.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3xygasJgc-i-obo1NtpimMoPvLAGs59IAx3jqkC4NEtGDaBjBP8-Tf2qG-LU4o1nQ31x_fPDU7ByDKLdpdJDUcadJBbArWAbJiSMhUejl6CEsxKsVn8sxdA5Cp8bG_OTxD62Y_o_P_ITO/s320/IMG-20130520-00301.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
And just some of the notecards, all with illustrated Dave Grohl lyrics and envelopes. I think there are about 14 in all. Just an aside - I do NOT like making envelopes!</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuBpsUaoM6KgCk2ZOyU3r_1ubljKA0JmkDvMM1pKaq5CKFoqlnFb27xyr1RrndGZ7KtsjEDePcrqTUKPTmWiyLAJB8_WKyxJDd3vk_eaetpIg-caDfqRTjAbTv7gBffDC45QYiBP2VmMuD/s1600/IMG-20130520-00303.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="154" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiuBpsUaoM6KgCk2ZOyU3r_1ubljKA0JmkDvMM1pKaq5CKFoqlnFb27xyr1RrndGZ7KtsjEDePcrqTUKPTmWiyLAJB8_WKyxJDd3vk_eaetpIg-caDfqRTjAbTv7gBffDC45QYiBP2VmMuD/s320/IMG-20130520-00303.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The next part is the tins. The big one is the top of a tin containing some canvases (more on that soon). The little rectangular tin contains some fun Foo Fighters plectrums (with lots of them featuring Mr Grohl). The plain silver tin has a necklace with a pic of Dave and some appropriate charms. On the right is some temporary tattoos that I repackaged. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<span style="text-align: left;">Actually, I bought them online with no measurements and they are teeny weeny but similar, so I did this for the back.</span></div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Hmmmm, what else? Oh yes, the canvases. A little triptych that I made.</div>

Plus, I discovered that the Foos have some great gig posters, so here is a little book of about 30 of them.</div>

Just passing through with a quick swap. Decorated ticket strips from the Tim Holtz die. Lots of watercoloured backgrounds using distress inks, some rub ons, a ton of background stamping and job done. They are much brighter in real life, but my scanner hates me and dulls everything down!</div>

Now, she makes the most fabulous chunkies herself (see <a href="http://www.snoophere.blogspot.fr/" target="_blank">her blog</a>) so it is really hard to make for her. Plus, I did one for Frances on the last swap. Plus, it's dragons! I don't have a good picture at the moment - only this one (note to self - must update) but here is my effort. And boy, was it an effort. Air dry clay was too brittle so I redid it in Fimo, plus the gold leaf is not behaving well!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD5xeq7v01iN3nGyIOFAmpBLwvmGXcCR3fl5w9LhckuQh08dxwD1e3SWIZ2uGwY7jKrMf47X1mgCDYqqp8cI2jYmx1LSAiCiJsgToL9YMTF5zPY234WUOYRQPP0oMcWmcoZS_YxG3Kb1ix/s1600/IMG_0888.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiD5xeq7v01iN3nGyIOFAmpBLwvmGXcCR3fl5w9LhckuQh08dxwD1e3SWIZ2uGwY7jKrMf47X1mgCDYqqp8cI2jYmx1LSAiCiJsgToL9YMTF5zPY234WUOYRQPP0oMcWmcoZS_YxG3Kb1ix/s320/IMG_0888.jpg" width="277" /></a></div>
<br />
Crappy photo taken from a borrowed ipod (I neeeed a camera!) but hopefully you get the idea. The chunky is covered in gold leaf with the Fimo dragon wrapped around it (and guarding it, obviously). Perched (but not stuck) on top is a treasure chest made from a cat food box. I'm actually pretty pleased with how that turned out - the rest doesn't quite match the vision in my head but hey ho. Having said that, my eldest made the dragon's head and I think that came out pretty well, so thank you Alex. The treasure chest does have contents - is Frances brave enough to face the dragon to find out ....?BEXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08419309705127739597noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1541299617598837486.post-69795786327211451082013-03-26T16:23:00.000+01:002013-03-26T16:23:46.230+01:00Not me for once, but my daughter Alex<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

I have never made inchies or twinchies before, although they have been around for ages. I did some for a swap recently, and I only had time to lob some onto the scanner and hope before sending them off. Well. the pic is rubbish but you get the idea. Now, I've found out that the host has used the same stamp for one of hers but hopefully it will all come out in the wash.<br />

My latest take on the chunky ATC theme - this time a steampunk valentine. Now, I love steampunk but I really do struggle to do it. I hope I've sort of captured it. Here's the front, chip[board heart and wings, cogs and wach bits. I did want to make this move, so that when you turned the cogs the wings flapped, but it didn't work out. I'm going to have another go at that with thinner cogs.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
This is the other side, where I transfer printed a free vintage image and added a watch mechanism plus some other bits. I was aiming for a sort of etched copper look and it's close enough to make me happy.</div>

The sides are just covered with some cog and wheel die cuts and I didn't get a picture of those, but hopefully you get the idea and thanks for looking.BEXhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08419309705127739597noreply@blogger.com4
