Horror themed triptych for Karen

Major catch up of stuff at the moment. I have been a bad blogger!

Another swap, this one is for Karen who wanted skulls or classic black and white horror (not the gory stuff).  I went for classic horror but added a few skulls in for good measure.

I found a couple of photos of two of my fave horror actors (Vincent Price and Christopher Lee) on tinterweb which I altered, along with a classic shot from Nosferatu. Printed onto old dictionary paper (cue much cursing and removing mangled bits of said paper from my printer) and mounted onto chunky mini canvases which were then mounted onto larger flat canvases painted black. Joined with some film ribbon (love that stuff) with added skulls.

Karen also sent me some kilt pins a while ago. so I made a horror themed kilt pin which is attached to the back with just a bit of washi tape, so it can be removed if she wants to take it off and wear it.

I hope she likes it. This was attempt number two after I got the mistaken idea that she wanted a Stampotique themed triptych. Reading instructions was never really my thing! I did send her the Stampotique one as well but I'm not sure I like it now (and it didn't photograph well) so it's not here.

I have a few more catch up bits so hopefully I will be back soon :)

Great pieces, love how you've joined them together. Intrigued by the film ribbon off for a Google. Lou x

OMG that is stunning Rebecca, and using the film ribbon to join the canvasses was inspired! xx
